THE REWARD OF AN OPEN HAND

Our instinct is to hold onto things. It starts at about age two and lasts until they wheel us into the nursing home. We have a stack of photographs on our lap, clinging, and all else is gone.

Willis Conover was a rare man. He gave away the best of himself to the whole world, from Boston to Bangkok, and in return the world made him the godfather of jazz for a whole generation.

But, the song he wrote and let go of is a priceless story.

It will come around the middle of the video.

Ecclesiastes 11:1 Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.

What are you clinging to? What if you let go?
